A little occasional water staining and a few other small faults but without loss of text. Titles printed in red and black. Printer's devices on title-pages and with head and tail pieces. Edges sprinkled in red. Original full vellum (small discreet archival repair to head of backstrip), ruled in blind and with blind decorative stamping central to both boards, original fore-edge ties missing. Manuscript title at head of backstrip is faint in part. With old circular book label on upper paste-down of St. Mary's Asylum Depository 23 Essex Quay, Dublin and later bookplate of Norfolk and Norwich Library being the gift of the Rev. Francis Procter, M.A, September 1898. Small circular university stamp in blank area of first title. A good, sound and wide margined copy of this important work on Canon Law which, in the Middle Ages, was the chief source of ecclesiastical legislation. It was not until 1917 that it was superseded by the Codex Juris Canonici.
