Printed dustjacket ( slightly frayed at edges, some dusting). A fine, privately owned, copy. ' Thomas Attwood Digges, of dubious repute, was a native of Maryland who lived abroad many years of his life (1724-1821). His Catholic family owned the estate across the Potomac from Mount Vernon ... He was also a diplomatic courier, passing letters to and from Franklin to David Hartley and to and from Henry Laurens when Laurens was imprisoned in the Tower late in 1780.'
