Thick small royal 8vo., 24 cms., pp xxxi, [i] blank, 504 and pp xxiv, 643,  blank. Title-pages printed in red and black. With a frontispiece portrait of Josiah Wedgwood as a frontispiece, 96 illustrations and 10 'additional illustrations' and steel engraved frontispiece portrait of Thomas Bentley. double-page coloured plate (spotted) of enamelled ware, 9 full-page illustrations, 154 figures and 13 'additional illustrations' throughout the text. Published heavily blocked cloth in blind, gilt and silver over heavy bevelled boards. Cloth slightly rubbed at extremities, head of backstrip on volume II a little frayed, inner hinge of volume has paper cracking but still firm. A very good copy. Two volumes. This is a heavy set and may attract additional postage.
